Serena Nanda යනු 1938 අගෝස්තු මස 13 දා උපන් ඇමෙරිකානු ජාතික මානව විද්‍යාඥවරියක් ,හිටපු උසස් පාසල් ගුරුවරියක් සේම ලේඛිකාවක්ද වේ,මැය නිව්යෝර්ක් නගරයේ මෑන්හැටන් John Jay College of Criminal Justice හි මහාචාර්යවරියක් ලෙසද සේවය කර තිබේ.ඇය තම ලේඛනයේදී මානවවේදය පිලිබඳව වැඩි අවධානයක් යොමු කර ඇත.එහිදී ඇය ලිංගිකභේදයේ විව්ධත්වය ගැන මෙන්ම ඉන්දියාවේ හිජ්රා සංස්කෘතිය පිළිබඳව වැදගත් තොරතුරු අඩංගු කෘති පළකර තිබේ.
